World’s Highest Waterfall: Angel Falls

Angel Falls - the world’s highest waterfall. Canaima National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site in the Gran Sabana region of Bolivar State, Venezuela. This is one of the main tourist destination in that country despite the remote location.

The air around their filled of fog that produced from exposure to high winds, fog can be feltup to a mile (1.6 km)! And the distinctive sound of thundering waterfalls sustainable.

Fifteen times the height of Niagara Falls, Angel Falls is the highest in the world.

Previously the existence of this waterfall has not been known by the outside world, until an American pilot Jimmie Angel flying across above this waterfall in November 16, 1933. During the flight to find a valuable natural resource (such as iron ore and other). On October 9, 1937 Angel back to try to land a monoplane Flamingo, El RioCaroni at the top of the mountain. But the plane was damaged when the wheels sank sunk into the marshy ground.

He and his three colleagues, including his wife Marie, then forced to go down the mountain on foot. They need 11 days to make their way back to civilization, the news of their adventure spread out, and to honor the waterfall was named Angel Falls. Angel’s plane remained on the mountain for 33 years before being picked up by helicopter. Then restored at the Museum of Flight in Maracay and now become the outdoors monument in front of the airport in Ciudad Bolívar.

Angel Falls is the highest waterfall in the world, with a height of 979 meters (3212 feet)and jump of 807 meters (2647 feet)
