In 1995, he began to create and sell custom jewelry.

Karen Weir started designing jewelry as a teenager. She studied under her father, Ernest, and earned a national award for her design work. After high school, she attended the University of New Mexico and continued her education at the University of Kansas. She studied Jewelry Design and Metal-smithing. Her work is highly detailed and colorful. She draws inspiration from the natural elements that she finds so fascinating. She is the mother of three daughters and loves spending time outdoors.
